San Antonio, TX – A new super PAC was formed Thursday, July 16th, intent on reversing the Supreme Court’s decision that forced same-sex marriage on all 50 states. “Restore Marriage” launched its website, www.restoremarriagepac.com and completed FEC filings (FEC ID C00581421). The super PAC will educate voters about and advocate for a meeting of the States where amendments, such as one to restore traditional marriage, can be created. This process is detailed in Article V of the Constitution.

Mr. Ammon Taylor, President of Restore Marriage said, “Most Americans think that since the Supreme Court decision allowing same-sex marriage, the issue is settled. It is not. The Supreme Court interpreted the Constitution, but the Constitution can be changed. Article V of the Constitution allows for a meeting of the States to propose constitutional amendments. This is a check and balance on the Federal Government, including the Supreme Court. It is our only Constitutional recourse to save marriage.”

While the States have never proposed amendments before, their constitutional rights have never been so threatened. Former Secretary of Agriculture Ezra Benson foresaw that “the Constitution will be saved…but it will not be saved in Washington.” An Article V meeting of the States is the only place where the States can – independent of Washington – defend and repair the Constitution.

Chief Justice Roberts said in his dissenting opinion that this case was “about whether, in our democratic republic,” the decision to allow same-sex marriage “should rest with the people acting through their elected representatives, or with five lawyers…The constitution leaves no doubt about the answer.” The issue was “stolen” from the People. Article V allows the People to take the issue back. We must avail ourselves of this constitutional right and allow every state the opportunity to restore traditional marriage.

Mr. Taylor continued, “We believe people with same-sex attraction and lifestyles should be treated with respect and kindness. Indeed, we support anti-discrimination laws protecting same-sex individuals in matters of housing, health, and employment. On marriage, we must draw the line. There are fundamental benefits to society and the generations to come in promoting and protecting the traditional family unit.”
